Microblading – Enhance Your Eyebrows

SCROLL

WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

Microblading is a relatively new, increasingly popular eyebrow enhancement technique that provides many advantages over conventional tattooing and cosmetics. The procedure employs a specialized tool consisting of tiny, clustered needles that that significantly enhances existing hair and adds fine, hair-like lines to ‘vacant’ areas. The outcome is a remarkable, natural-looking 3-D appearance to the brow.

WHAT MAKES MICROBLADING DIFFERENT FROM A CONVENTIONAL TATTOO?

Unlike conventional tattooing, microblading is both non-invasive and much more precise, resulting in a fuller and better-defined brow. Because it only reaches the first thin layer of the skin, it’s more temporary–lasting one to three years. Also, as it’s administered manually and not with a machine, there is superior control, better detail, and no under skin “spilling.” Another advantage–the pigments used are easier on the skin than tattoo ink, which over time can fade into an unattractive color.

WHO WOULD BENEFIT FROM MICROBLADING?

People notice our eyes before any other facial feature. The shape and symmetry of the eyebrows have a big impact on the overall aesthetic of a person’s face.

  • If you want fuller, thicker, more beautiful eyebrows without the low-quality look that typically comes with eyebrow cosmetics or permanent tattooing, this procedure may be the ideal solution for you.
  • Microblading can correct an uneven brow shape, over-tweezed hair, or loss of hair that won’t grow back for medical reasons. –More specifically, microblading can be a great solution for people who need to compensate for alopecia, the effects of chemotherapy, thyroid issues, Lupus or other diseases that can lead to loss or thinning of brows.

People who may not be candidates for this treatment include those who have diabetes, bleeding disorders, oily skin, psoriasis, eczema, a tendency to scar, or had previous permanent eyebrow tattooing. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should postpone getting this procedure.

HOW LONG DOES MICROBLADING LAST?

Results vary, but you can typically expect one and a half to three years, depending on the person’s skin type. To complete the process, you’ll need to return for a touch-up treatment no later than 4-6 weeks after treatment. –This is a two-stage process.

HOW LONG DOES THE MICROBLADING PROCEDURE TAKE?

The microblading process usually takes one to one and a half hours.

DOES MICROBLADING HURT?

This procedure involves minimal discomfort or pain. A numbing cream is applied beforehand and throughout the procedure to ensure your comfort. You may feel a mild scratching sensation at the beginning of your treatment.

PREPARATION

You’ll need to avoid alcohol, aspirin, blood thinners and retinol for the week before your treatment.

AFTERCARE

You will receive thorough aftercare instructions on how to care for your brows after the procedure, as well as products needed during the healing period. You’ll have to protect freshly bladed brows from moisture–for example, avoiding washing your face with water and all sweat-inducing exercise. Some redness and itching during the first week are normal, which Vaseline can alleviate. Brows may at first look darker than expected, but the color will fade to a normal appearance within a few weeks.
