What is Breast Augmentation?

Breast Augmentation, sometimes referred to as an augmentation mammaplasty, involves using breast implants to increase the size of your breasts, improve breast asymmetry, or restore your breast volume. Many patients get a “boob job” to increase fullness of their breasts and enhance their self-image and self-confidence.

Why is Dr. Roth the Ideal Choice for Your Breast Augmentation Surgeon?

Breast Implants are available in a variety of types, textures, and sizes. You and Dr. Roth will go over in detail what the right implant will be based on different factors to meet your desired goals. Dr. Roth will highlight both the advantages and disadvantages of each type of implant and the selection of the implants will be made for an effective outcome.

Dr. Roth will first start out with a tiny inframammary incision along the crease under the breast. This incision prevents any capsular contracture issues and nipple sensitivity compared to the periareolar incision. Once the incision is made, Dr. Roth will then place the implants into the subpectoral pockets, which lie under the chest wall. By using biodimensional planning, it allows Dr. Roth to take specific measurements of patient so that way the best implant size can be placed in.

In some cases, a breast lift can be done alongside a breast augmentation. A breast lift reshapes and adds volume to the breasts. During this procedure, Dr. Roth will first shift the nipple and aerola to a higher position. He will make a “lollipop”/vertical incision from the aerola and extend downward in order to remove excess skin and reconstruct the breast tissue.  Once the breast lift has been completed, the implants will be placed in to fill the breast tissue for a fuller look. Breast Implants can be placed either above or below the pectoral muscle.

Dr. Roth works to transform the shape and contour of your breasts to give them a natural look by both improving the volume and firmness, helping you achieve your goals with beautiful results.

Recovery From A Breast Enhancement Procedure

Mammaplasty is a quick and easy outpatient procedure that takes about a little over an hour to perform. Patients who have this surgery are able to return home the same day as long as they are under supervision and care. Dr. Roth will prescribe his patients antibiotics and pain medicine as required. Most women may take a mild muscle relaxer a few days and may not even need the pain medication. You will be able to shower the day after the procedure and will be able to resume to daily living activities within two weeks. Heavy and hardcore activity is restricted for at least two weeks to make sure the patient is safe and they are minimizing any risk of complications.
